Dr. Mabry’s Passion For Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Mabry discovered his passion for dentistry by accompanying his mother—who was a dental hygienist in the Valley—to her job when he was a kid. He was always intrigued with the work she performed as well as what the dentist was able to do for patients in a single day. This experience, combined with his love of working with his hands, led Dr. Mabry to pursue a career in dentistry, which he finds to be an incredibly fulfilling profession.

“I love cosmetic dentistry and being able to improve a patient’s smile! People who smile with confidence don’t really understand what it’s like to avoid smiling because of a cosmetic issue. Throughout my years in practice, I’ve come to truly appreciate what these individuals feel on a daily basis, and being able to hear them say something like, ‘I have not been able to smile like this ever!” after seeing their transformation is very rewarding.”
What Is A Cosmetic Dentist?
A cosmetic dentist has training in general and restorative treatments but is also specialized in cosmetic techniques that are designed to improve the aesthetics of your smile. Oral health should always be considered the foundation of beautiful teeth and gums. Using state-of-the-art solutions such as porcelain veneers and porcelain crowns, cosmetic dentists can use their honed artistic skill to rejuvenate the appearance of the smile with natural-looking results. By choosing a cosmetic dentist, you can feel confident that both the function and the form of your smile will be considered during your dental treatments.

Questions To Ask Your Cosmetic Dentist
Choosing the best cosmetic dentist for your needs can have a significant impact on your satisfaction. Not all cosmetic dentists have the same educational background, experience or credentials. Spend some time researching your potential dentists. To help you in this endeavor, Dr. Mabry has compiled a list of questions to ask your cosmetic dentist during your initial appointment:
- Which cosmetic procedure or procedures do you perform the most frequently?
- What area of dentistry did you focus on during your education?
- Are you involved in any continuing education coursework to remain up-to-date with the latest techniques and technology?
- Are you a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)?
- Do you have before-and-after photos of previous patients?
- Are there any oral health treatments that should be performed before my cosmetic procedure?
- What dental laboratory do you partner with, and what materials are used to make restorations like veneers and crowns?
- How long can I expect the results of my cosmetic dentistry procedure to last?
- How much will my procedure cost?
- Do you offer any dental financing options?
At the end of your preliminary consultation, you should feel comfortable with your cosmetic dentist and confident in his or her ability to meet your expectations. If you have any reservations, do not hesitate to continue your search for a cosmetic dentist who is better suited for you.
