This year, North Scottsdale Dental Studio is partnering with the local shelter Sojourner Center for a holiday drive from October 23 to December 14, 2023. Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been helping adults and children experiencing or affected by domestic violence. Through a variety of services, including emergency shelter and community outreach programs, the non-profit has been able to help over 1,000 survivors each year heal from their trauma, get a roof over their head, and become more self-sufficient.
The holiday drive aims to collect items that will support those coming to Sojourner Center for help, as most of the time, survivors only have the clothes on their back. The list below includes examples of much-needed items:
New Items
- Diapers (sizes 5, 6, and 7) and diaper wipes
- Pillows
- Bath towels
- Twin blankets, mattress protectors, and pads
- Cleaning supplies
- Basic and feminine hygiene products
New or Slightly Used Items
- Children’s clothes
- Books
- Twin or queen bed frames
- Small kitchen appliances
